5th Annual DanceAfrica: From African Roots: Modern Moves

Dallas Black Dance Theatre presents DanceAfrica, a celebration of African Roots through a weekend packed with dance, music, art and community events. DanceAfrica Founder, Chuck Davis, returns as he choreographs a celebration of African traditions through the modern moves of guest artist, Illstyle & Peace Productions, a Philadelphia based multicultural dance company whose works fuses the movement and spirit of old-school hip-hop with various styles of African dance; Bandan Koro African Drum and Dance Ensemble; Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Dallas Black Dance Theatre II.

Bring the whole family and come enjoy the outdoor marketplace of DanceAfrica. You will experience a full day of performances from local and national artists, arts and crafts, fashion, and, in collaboration with the Dallas Museum of Art, a children’s area celebrating the African Masks Exhibit. Hosted in the Dallas Arts District at 2400 Flora Street. Ticket purchases may be placed over the phone by calling the Box Office at 214-871-2390.
