arboretum Blooms511Summertime is the perfect time to visit the  Dallas Arboretum. The summer months will be filled with family friendly events for all ages.

The Dallas Arboretum welcomes Summer at the Arboretum with the return of Flower Houses: Fairy Tales with a Texas Twist.

Continuing the year-long Deep in the Hearts of Texans theme, the flower village features four topiary houses up to 15 feet tall currently enveloped in red, white and blue flowers before transitioning into summer foliage.

Mondays in June feature Stories in the Flower Village, with readings under the shade of Pecan Grove, while Fridays through July feature the ever-popular Family Fun Fridays, with face painting, a petting zoo and more.

Early Morning Yoga

Saturdays in June and July | 7:30 am
Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn

Enjoy an  outdoor yoga class, inspired by the beauty of nature. The FREE class is offered exclusively to Arboretum members. Knowledgeable instructors will lead you through a series of adaptable poses in a one-hour class,  suitable for all fitness levels.

Bring a mat or towel and a water bottle. In the event of rain, class will be moved to an indoor location. Learn more about Early Morning Yoga

Golden Hour

Wednesday, June 10 and June 24 | 6-9 pm

For two evenings in June, the Dallas Arboretum opens its doors at special pricing to allow the community to capture those golden hour photos in the showcase gardens. Intended for personal photography and portraiture, the garden is open for a limited time to allow for bridal portraits, family photos and hobby photographers. See more about Golden Hour.

WFAA Family First Day

Saturday, June 13 | 10 am – 2 pm

Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden

Your children will love the puppet shows, hands-on outdoor science experiments, and scenes from A Midsummer Night’s Dream (with the Dallas Junior Players). The event will  round out a family-centered day anchored by a special presentation with WFAA Meteorologist Greg Fields and other on-air personalities in the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden.

Admission  for the event is $8 at the gate,  with $8 parking available for advance purchase online. Hotdogs will be available for $2. As always, Members receive free admission and parking. See more about WFAA Family First Day.

Father’s Day Activities

Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21

Spend a weekend celebrating Dad with two days of Father’s Day activities throughout the garden.

Saturday features a concert from multilingual balladeer Frank Obregon on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn, playing music from Tony Bennett to Santana. On Sunday, start the day painting flower pots and building bird houses in the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. See all Father’s Day activities.

Cool Thursdays Concerts

Dallas Arboretum ConcertsCool Thursdays Concert lakeside evenings are a great place to listen to music with family and friends. Tickets for this popular outdoor concert series are in demand. especially  for all of the sought-after tribute bands set to play the Dallas Arboretum this summer.
