The Texas State Fair is Back!

The State Fair of Texas opens Friday, September 29, 2023. This year’s theme is “Explore the Midway”.

For more than 135 years, The Midway of the State Fair of Texas has been one of the most popular locations on the fairgrounds for people of all ages. The Midway is the place where you can choose your adventure and enjoy the carefree bliss that comes with riding rides, playing games, or simply taking a stroll as you savor a Corny Dog while soaking in all the sights and sounds the Fair has to offer.

Inspired by several iconic elements of the State Fair of Texas, this year’s commemorative theme art highlights some of our favorite ways to “Explore the Midway,” like the historic neon Midway arch, the 1914 Dentzel Carousel, the Midway Barker, the Texas Skyway, and of course, the Texas Star Ferris Wheel.

Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum

Celebrate Autumn with more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash at the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village. This year’s theme is “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown™,” where we feature creative displays and themed pumpkin houses based on the 1966 classic. 

The 18th annual Autumn at the Arboretum: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, presented by Reliant, opens September 16 and runs through November 5, 2023. The festival features the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village filled with pumpkin houses and creative displays using more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash.

The Dallas Arboretum Celebrates Black Heritage

The Dallas Arboretum has set the date for the 3rd annual Black Heritage Celebration (BHC), presented by Bank of America, for May 6 and Sunday, May 7. The 2-day event will take place in the 66-acre garden overlooking White Rock Lake and will feature chef demonstrations, musicians, Black-owned vendors, a fashion show, and an entrepreneur showcase. Black Heritage Celebration is open to the public and is included in the general admission to the Dallas Arboretum.
