Dallas Arboretum Hosts Family Fun Festivities in October

Family Fun Weekend: October 26 – 27

The Dallas Arboretum invites you and your family to partake in Family Fun Weekend during Autumn at the Arboretum on October 26 and 27. You wil enjoy strolling through the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village and surrounding displays featuring 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash and breathtaking fall color throughout the 66-acre garden.

Themed It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the Pumpkin Village includes a ‘Great Pumpkin’ topiary; Linus, Sally and Franklin topiaries looking through the pumpkin patch; Snoopy and Woodstock topiaries atop his dog house; Lucy giving garden advice at her booth; a Schroeder topiary standing near his giant topiary piano and more. 

You can trick-or-treat throughout the gardens, decorate pumpkins, get their faces painted, pet animals in the petting zoo and listen to live music all weekend long. On Saturday, October 26, enjoy a live performance from The Berkner Ramblers at noon in the Entry Plaza and a performance by TBA Band, a Dallas-based variety band with a perfect blend of folk, pop, and soul, at 2 p.m. at the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn.

On Sunday, October 27, enjoy live music featuring The Texas Boys Choir performance at 1 p.m. on the DeGolyer Pergola and The Monkey Love Band from 2-4 p.m. on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn.  The Volunteer Advisory Board is onsite to capture keepsake photos (for donation) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. all weekend.  

On Sunday, October 27 at 7 p.m., watch a special night screening of the movie, It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring their own trick or treat bags. Family fun activities are complimentary with paid garden admission.  

Halloween Week at The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden

Crawl like a scary spider, slither like a spooky snake or hop like a Halloween frog to the biggest monster mash this side of White Rock Lake. Enjoy Halloween programming all week-long starting Friday. The adventure starts with a creepy creative corner, a spooky scavenger hunt, stick-er-treating and more. 

Trick-or-Treating in the Children’s Adventure Garden

Don’t miss out on a special spooky late night at the Halloween Rory Meyer’s Children’s Adventure Garden. There will be tricks and treats at every turn! Costumes encouraged for a festive and frightful costume contest. Be sure to stop by the kooky costume spot in the entry plaza! Awards are given at 8 p.m.
