Father’s Day Weekend
June 17 & 18, 11am-4pm, Café on the Green

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden invites dads to celebrate this Father’s Day weekend in the garden. With a purchase of one child’s main garden admittance, one adult admittance to the main garden is complimentary, along with one free iced tea (limit one per family). Enjoy BBQ paired with local beers at Café on the Green from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Join the Dallas Zoo team in the Entry Plaza in The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and get up close with animals from Africa. The Children’s Adventure Garden offers a “Superhero Dads” Craft Corner for children to make superhero-inspired crafts in the Entry Plaza on both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Additionally, The Nasher Sculpture Center will be in the Exploration Center where guests can create a sculpture using simple shapes inspired by favorite insects on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dave Forehand, VP of gardens added: “We have beds bursting with blooms like impatiens, petunias, salvias, marigolds and zinnias to remember the holiday with your family. Add in the barbeque, local beers, and hand-made crafts, and you’ve got a day full of fun for Dad.”

Families can take advantage of the historic Restaurant DeGolyer offering Sunday brunch and lunch all weekend, or bring a picnic to enjoy dining in several picturesque locations throughout the 66-acre garden. ZimSculpt, a modern Zimbabwean stone sculpture exhibit placed throughout the garden, is in its final weeks. More than 100,000 guests have visited ZimSculpt, featuring live sculpting demonstrations daily by Zimbabwean artists-in-residence, Aron Kapembeza and Passmore Mupindiko.
