Dallas Arboretum’s Cool Thursdays Music Series Fall Concerts Returns on September 4

Dallas Arboretum ConcertsThe premier concert series “Cool Thursdays” at the Dallas Arboretum will return to the Dallas Arboretum in September. Dallas’ favorite concert series overlooks the picturesque White Rock Lake on the award-winning Martin Rutchik Concert Lawn and has become a “must do” Thursday night event for many local residents.

The spring concert series completely sold out and the fall series is sure to do the same. The only way to enjoy the September 4 concert featuring Dallas’ favorite variety band, Emerald City, and to secure your spot for the remainder of the concerts is to purchase a fall subscription, as individual tickets for Emerald City have already sold out.

Emerald City is best described in three words: motion, movement and energy. This 13 piece, three-horn section super group electrifies every audience with a combination of high engaging dance songs from the past along with today’s hits. Emerald City has even been voted as “Entertainers of the Year,” and their ability to entertain is only rivaled by their extensive ability to get the audience up on the dance floor.

For Emerald City, guests are encouraged to participate in the weekly costume contest to win prizes. This week’s theme is to come dressed in white from head-to-toe for the “Emerald City ‘White Out’ Award.”

In addition to the coolest view of White Rock Lake, attendees can bring picnics and beverages or purchase food from food trucks including Easy Slider and Cajun Tailgators. The gardens are also open to stroll through before the concert to enjoy the breathtaking fall displays including the famous pumpkin village.

The concert series continues through October and will return again in the spring 2015. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the fall concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets start at $10-$27 and are available for purchase online. For group tickets of 15 or more, call Torie Parsons, 214-515-6520. On-site parking is complimentary for all concerts.
