For its twentieth anniversary year, the Las Colinas Symphony will be “An Orchestra for All Seasonsâ€. The October and November subscription programs will feature Grieg’s In Autumn. Brahms’ Symphony No. 2, aBeethoven’s Triple Concerto and Vaughan Williams’ Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra. The January and February concerts will offer Tchaikovsky’s "Winter Dreams" Symphony, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1, ("Winter Daydreams") and a Suite from Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Snow Maiden. S chumann’s "Spring Symphony", Sibelius’ Spring Song, and Johann Strauss II’s Voices of Spring will be heard in February and March. And, in April and May, the LCSO audience will be treated to Wagner’s Ride of the Valkeries, Berg’s Im Sommerwind, and Swedish composer Hugo Alfvén’s rollicking Midsommarvarka.
Along the way, the orchestra will also play selections from the many composers who have written music for all four seasons – not only Vivaldi’s always popular Quattri Stagioni, but also works by Sibelius, Haydn, Glazunov, and Musgrave.
