5th Annual DanceAfrica: From African Roots: Modern Moves

Dallas Black Dance Theatre presents DanceAfrica, a celebration of African Roots through a weekend packed with dance, music, art and community events. DanceAfrica Founder, Chuck Davis, returns as he choreographs a celebration of African traditions through the modern moves of guest artist, Illstyle & Peace Productions, a Philadelphia based multicultural dance company whose works fuses the movement and spirit of old-school hip-hop with various styles of African dance; Bandan Koro African Drum and Dance Ensemble; Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Dallas Black Dance Theatre II.

Bring the whole family and come enjoy the outdoor marketplace of DanceAfrica. You will experience a full day of performances from local and national artists, arts and crafts, fashion, and, in collaboration with the Dallas Museum of Art, a children’s area celebrating the African Masks Exhibit.
