Marvin’s Room has been called “one of the funniest plays of the year, as well as one of the wisest and most moving” by the New York Times. Marvin’s Room tells the story of Bessie, the caretaker of her ailing father, Marvin and her aunt Ruth.

While nursing them, Bessie learns that she herself now has leukemia. She contacts her estranged siblings in hopes of getting a donor for a much-needed bone marrow transplant.

Despite the serious subject matter, Marvin’s Room has an enduring sense of humor that proves that laughter and reconciliation are the best medicines.
